Fiesta de Vine
Hill
May 2006
A capacity crowd of Vine Hill kids and their families showed
up and celebrated our school spirit Mexican style!
The craft table was crowded the whole night with busy hands
making fun crafts. DJ Dave Hurley kept the fun going with
dancing and games on the dance floor, while outside Smokey
the donkey worked his way into our kids hearts as well as
their pictures. By the end of the night Smokey must have been
the most photographed animal in the community center's history
as our kids lined up with their family and friends for a picture
or two with Smokey!
For those who weren’t busy crafting, dancing or visiting
Smokey; a steady stream of nachos and churros from the kitchen
kept everyone happy!
Bingo Night
February 2006
A night of fun and BINGO! Refreshments were provided and prizes
were given out to all game winners. Everyone who planned on
playing bingo was asked to donate a "white elephant"
item to add to the prize table and to the excitement of the
night. It was a great time had by all!
Starry Starry Night 2
September 2005
It was a starry starry night on the last day of September
2005 and over 400 people showed up to the Vine Hill Amphitheater
for the first Vine Hill PTA Family Fun Night of the school
year!. The feature movie “Flubber” starring Robin
Williams, was a big hit with Vine Hill families, who came
out with their flash lights and blankets to watch the movie.
The food table was particularly busy this year, with literally
hundreds of bags of popcorn being made and given out, and
over 30 gallons of hot chocolate drunk. A special bonus for
the night was the free glow-in-the-dark necklaces and bracelets
for the kids. These proved really popular and it was quite
a sight to see the kids wearing all sorts of glowing colors,
watching the movie and having fun.
As with all Family Fun Nights this event was entirely funded
by the Vine Hill PTA, and run by a tireless troop of volunteers.
Our thanks go out to Ken Seivers, Mark Andrews, Juliane Bahram,
Amanda Ballard, Barb Beyke, Keith Chambers, Kelly Chan, Jill
Davis , Amy & Dustin Eisenhut, Dan & Diana Garrett,

Simonovich, Tammy Rust, Mary Marasco, Tina Ashe Ian &

on! A special thank you also to Kathy Frost of SVHS, who helped
us with the food and drink equipment and preparation! Be sure
to watch for our next Family Fun night coming up in February.
Rockin Thru the Ages
April 2005
We had a great turn out, with over 200 people boogying down
on the dance floor, and DJ Erin cranking out tunes from all
the decades that we know and love! Many of our dancers turned
up in cool costumes from their favorite decade, and joined
in the costume contest! We had costumes from the 50’s,
all the way to Star Wars! Everyone participated, even those
who preferred to put on a light show with their glow necklaces
sold by the awesome 5th grade Service Club! The highlight
of the evening was Mrs. Dunton joining her students out on
the dance floor and enjoying a special song dedicated to her!
The 5th grade service club did an outstanding job of raising
over $900 in concession and smoothie sales! Thanks to Nick
Chambers, Madeline Heitman, Betsy Howard, Samantha Iokua,
Alex Kalinowski, Kendra Kennegaard, Kristina Kinstler, Nick
Martin, Payton McQuillian, Kalynn Morano, Tony Marasco, Kassandr
Omvik, Emily Payne, Haley Robinson, Taylor Rohde, Tessa Rudy,
Joanna Sieb, Kristen Snell, Ryan Snell and Zack Sorci. The
proceeds of their hard work will go directly to the Dollar-A-Day
campaign. A big thank you to the Vine Hill PTA, the 5th grade
teachers and parents of the 5th grade service club, and all
other volunteers who helped us out!
